About us
ALABAT is a non-profit scientific organization whose main objective is to promote research, teaching and scientific dissemination of tissue and cell banks, especially of Latin America and the world.

In ALABAT there is a scientific community of approximately 100 members.

Among the main activities of ALABAT in Tissue and Cell Banks are the following:

Promote research, knowledge and its dissemination in the area of Tissue and Cell Banks.

Organize conferences, symposia and meetings.

Organize and promote courses and workshops.

Provide editorial support for specialized magazines on the subject.

Dissemination of scientific and technical knowledge related to procurement, processing, safeguarding, transplantation of tissues and cells for clinical and research purposes.

Assistance to regulatory bodies and authorities in the implementation of new legislation, revision of laws, generation of action guides in each member country.

Establish updates and dissemination of medical and legal knowledge in the area.

​ALABAT is a non-profit academic association, which aims to promote and support scientific development, research and teaching of all activities related to conservation, preservation and human tissue and cell transplantation in Latin America.

To be an international benchmark for professionals and institutions in the matter of tissue and cell donation and transplantation. promoting the development, scientific dissemination, as well as intellectual collaboration and academic excellence, with high standards of quality and ethics, establishing an efficient, flexible and transparent organization made up of highly trained professionals.
